check if your motherboard accept pci express and then every new gfx card will fit
this is my motherboard. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/266/imag0479o.jpg/
so would the new card fit in there? i think its too small to fit in there

well i cannot realy see, but u just need to have a pci express x16 slot, check on the manual of ur motherboard
Parent
so i heard u troll cuz u can troll and try to roll but fail? D:
nVidia has a PCI x16 slot and Asus has PCI 2.0 but there is no problem in connecting one in the place of another
take radeon hd 6870 1024mb gddr5 pci-e :))

i got Asus M5A87 and it got

2x PCI Express x1
3x PCI
PCI Express 2.0 x16
how would i connect it? i think its way too small to fit in the slot
Parent
what motherboard do you have ?
the model...
Parent
where do i find the model?
Parent
in the graphic interface: version: PCI-Express.. the ASUS one is pci-express as well but it looks like it would be way to small for the slot..

you will need a psu with a reasonable wattage and quality and 2x6pin connectors, your mobo will support it as long as it supports PCI-Express which has been around for many years.
i think these connectors come with the card
Parent
maybe but i have not heard of that before, they usually come with the PSU, and if your PSU isn't modular then the connectors are useless anyway. Older PSUs often only have 1 6pin connector but don't try and only use one its a very bad idea

this is what the connector looks like: http://techreport.com/r.x/psus-0907/pcie-connectors.jpg

*edit: i mean 6 pin
Parent
i have the PCI-E 6 pin connectors inside the pc. does this mean my pc can take PCI-Express graphic cards?
Parent
yeh will be fine then, your PSU should be 600W+ too
Parent
only have 420W :/
Parent
hm that's very low :o i have 850, dont think i ever had less than 500 except my first pc 12yrs ago :p
Parent
well i think for this one : Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti DirectCu, 1 Go u'll need 450wat.

imo a 420w will do the job For a Asus GeForce GTX 550 Ti , 1 Go 420

not sure tho:p
Parent
Yes it will fit it will work great
