why should the centre of europe not be an island? or would u say that the etna on the sicily island aint part of the island? u surely wouldnt doubt this. in the end its pretty much the same with US states and central europe, just in way larger scales.
sure they arent an island for themselves, but hey they are parts of massive islands, which makes them a part of those.

basically you could see it the other way around as well... There are "islands" of water surrounded by land.... when there is a sphere there will always be an island on the surface of that sphere

What this guy did is a selfless act purely to aid others despite repercussions and exactly what everyone should do in disastrous situation like this one. RIP
