Again we had nice feedback and changed the map a bit to get better performance, now we need again a 6on6 game , so people come and play a new map .

You should join our TS + give feedback !

+1, map makers forgot the originality and the looks, thats what i enjoy at q3/ql maps (trickjump for example, they are mostly colorfull n stuff)

i don't know how they do it, but they would need to create or download new textures (perhaps steal them from other games)...it's not only about the way they see it

thats not really a problem, there are tons of free and easily tile-able textures online, but it does increase the pk3 size a bit. Making quake3-ish colours wouldnt be hard at all, since you could use fairly low-resolution textures, if you mostly have single tones. I'd say the main focus of the mapper would/should be the gameplay aspect and getting rid of the bugs :). I've seen loads of really cool looking maps (_2bridges_), that have poor gameplay :/

Well, you are right, But i am always looking for perfection and trying to be a perfectionist, feels like most map makers around do not share the same idea. They only focus at one thing and they are not even perfect at it. No offense.

The problem with mapmaking and perfectionism is that it all takes a shitload of time :D. He or someone else could just pimp the map out with more custom textures/decals after the playtests/showmatches have shown that it works though.

seriously though I don't think there are many "texture artists" here and people making maps on cf don't tend to be that involved with the splash damage forum which is probably where they should go if they want new free textures

so you just have the standard set of textures pulled from other maps

well that and the fact that ww2 was pretty visually boring except for the tanks and stuff
