as soon as you buy sth from the shop you get promoted to premium, which gives you more storage and you can trade ingame, cheapest item is like 0,29€ or sth

seta r_textureMode "GL_LINEAR_MIPMAP_LINEAR" ?

(the cvar that makes ET look like youre playing minecraft)
