Good Noobs, Bad Noobs

Hi,

Yesterday I was positively surprised while playing on some public etpro server (don't even remember which one, I guess some Arena51). I jumped in at battery, allies being raped on both beach spawnpoints. So I thought I give it a try and supported the allies as secondary engineer.

Soon the cause for the buttrape was clear: As usual the team just had no organisation. I have to say, I am definitely not the best aimer, quite the opposite. But I think I am a solid player, knowing what to do on a map.

So I noticed two medics spawning at the alternative spawnpoint, but always running up to the (of course unbuilt) assault ramp. Their aim was horrible, too, even worse than mine. However I flooded them a bit with "follow me" and briefly explained to them they are supposed to stay *behind* me and most importantly to revive each other and me, the engi, next.

And to my huge surprise: They actually did that. And it worked like a charm. First we had some troubles with coordination but after 2-3 runs we were at the guns. The medics didn't hit much but they always revived themselves, giving me the backup I needed to plant the dynamite.

This worked on for several maps, on radar we busted thru the main entrance, neglecting the bunker completely and getting both objectives within 4 minutes -- while all the others were somehow still at the allied frontspawn or in the bunker playing happy deathmatch.

The events and strategy as such are nothing new and probably not even interesting but we had plain fun owning the maps with comparable low skill.

Quintessence: Give Noobs a Chance!
