Does anyone using this OS or have any information about it if is better than windows, and how does affect et and tzac?I know is based on Linux so that means that on Ubuntu ,tzac dont work?
i recently installed lubuntu on a PIII 600Mhz and it has LXDE(light KDE)
on a 320MB RAM pc
im to noob to go straight into that
if you dont want to listen then install it anyway
Tzac MAY work with a library layer, but since your asking this question, I wouldn't even try, you'll be back (after a week of trying to get your inet working) asking how to install et on ubuntu.
Is windows broke? Don't fix it!
unforgiven and banga!!
but for playing its not a good idea.
I think TZAC Client will never be released for Linux.
approach it as you approached windows the first time, and it'll be a great OS.
to get tzac to work im afraid youre gonna have to use a virtual machine or something like that, because chaplja (who used to code cheats to linux) doesnt wanna code a linux client
if its really better for ET or games in general i cant say. if youre using a very slow pc, it might help you using reduced Operationsystems e.g. XP gamers edition or the gamers linux distr but else i would say, stick to what is working well
But if you don't have any linux ambitions and want only a better os than windows then you can use it becuase it is still linux - free, stable and intiutive.
If you want try real linux then i recommend you debian(ubuntu is debian based though_, fedora, centos or slackware. But if you search only a good replacement for windows, and you want to work with the replacement the same way you've worked with windows then ubuntu is good choice.
if tzac doesnt work on linux then it wont work on ubuntu aswell
In addition you might have a problems with sound in et and with mouse drivers, lots of companies dont even develop linux ver drivers.
