mass effect 3 fucked my life

So I bought this game yesterday afternoon, installed it and decided to begin playing it for a hour before I go out with some friends and my gf

10 hours later (without turning my eyes off the screen a single time) I noticed, puh, well.... 5 am... WTF? checked my phone, which was full of sms and missed calls and all that shit

WHY OH WHY EA? WHY DO YOU TURN ME INTO A NERD BY JUST SIMPLY ONE EPIC GAME?

I hate you EA!

Played 13,5 hours straight on Thursday. I feel like the writing is a whole lot better and grittier than the first two. I also accidently killed Tali and felt really bad and had to stop for a minute to figure out how I can fix that shit.
i will kill you for that !

That was the first thing I checked up on when ME3 was realeased ;) I was disappoint.

YOU BASTARD!

I have almost the same playing hours.

What decisions have you made so far?

Keep geth/quarians? Did you tell Krogan about the tower or did you help the salarians?
Kept the geth, didn't tell the Krogan, but from what I remember Mordin repairs it anyway.
Parent
I played this time as a Good Guy Greg. I told the Krogan, but the salarians will help you anyways. And I kept the quarians.
Parent
So the entire Krogan episode has the same outcome, whatever you do :/ I wanted to play it as GGG, too, but I find myself making unfavorable decisions to recruit the most useful army. I decided to the geth because, when you're in their 'hivemind', you realize they only defend themselves against Quarian aggression. They are entirely rational and therefore make better allies imho. Also, I loved Legion in ME2.
Parent
Yeah, liked Legion as well. I just know that I will play it again and I might do it the other way around and this time I wanted to be the GGG and save the quarians. And in that matter geth and quarians almost have the same fleet size etc, so I guess when it comes down to that then it really doesnt matter that much.

Going to download a ME2 savegame, where everyone survived and I am gonna see how the game looks then. I guess there would be more options then or something. At least I hope so. ( Especially as I loaded my wrong ME2 save where Samara and Garrus died )
Parent
I took a look at the possible squad members and that was quite disappointing. Having Garrus was nice but Ashley is just a pain in the ass compared to Miranda. Maybe Yvonne Strahovski became to expensive after Chuck :> I also would've wished for more new characters, other than that Spanish Hulk.

I like me2 more and gotta say I expected more from the graphics

Yeah, some of the textures look really blurry. I was kinda disappointed with that.

E: That is the Citadel sky though, don't know to what extent this is a projection.

I don't get why so many people are dissapoint by this game. Granted, I haven't made it to the end yet (almost there) and alot of people seem to have problems with that.

But besides that it has been one of the most entertaining and dramatic gaming experiences I've had so far. I love how they are not afraid to kill off people, even children. Makes the war so much more real.

I think the writing has been really good. A few moments that really blew my mind (SPOILERS) :

A living prothean? Immense! Mordin dieing to cure the genophage. The tresher maw killing of the reaper. More I probably forgot

To me ME2 was abit of a dissapointment compared to ME1 eventhough the combat was great. But ME3 is just a great experience eventhough it doesn't wield the same freedom as ME1, I can more easily look past it then I could in ME2.
Agreed. I was more shaken up by this game than I have ever been before by a game. There is sense of urgency that I haven't experienced before. The mission where you find the Prothean beacon on Thessia and the Illusive Man steals it from you I really had a brief moment of "What the hell? This can't be good."

Also, the weapon adjustments require you to change your gear for every mission as well as companions and the skill system is a good mix between the first and the second imho. Except for a lot of senseless running around for minor missions there is barely anything I don't like about this game.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way, I'm nearing the end now and already looking forward to a renegade playthrough with my female infiltrator! ME1 was so great because it was rather mysterious and you felt like exploring an actual universe looking for answers, ME3 might not have that but it has a general feeling of desperation and fighting for survival going. ME2 had nothing like that.

The only thing I regret is picking an adept, eventhough it was my main playthrough from previous games, I'm missing out on all the equip/weapons upgrades. Adept on insanity isn't as fun as it was in ME2. Partially because the camera POV is really annoying when not aiming.

Which class are you playing? Heard good things about the vanguard.

On a sidenote: Do you think they should bring back exploring and a open world back? More like in ME1 or even better? I just miss landing on a planet and uncovering mysterious events with my moonbuggy :p

I'm playing straight up soldier, mostly because I like the new weapon system and want to test everything.

I like the roaming around idea, but the Mako in ME1 was more than flawed and the driving around was pretty dull. However, I liked the glider in ME2 and would've liked that in ME3.

And yeah, the pov is pretty annoying, even for shooting. A tiny bit too close to the character in my opinion.
Parent
yeah the driving around was boring because most people don't want to miss any content and want to check everything out. But I don't see why there aren't a few planets you can land on and when you land they could mark points of interests.
