hi guys, since few days my pcs power shuts of sometimes.
it happend when i played bf3, and when i converted a movie.
So during heavy duty i guess.
what can be the causes?
i thought of ; overheating, powersupply broken? maybe memory :?
oh and what is a good program to measure temperatures in my pc?
edit; problem solved! cpu cooling block was full of dust, cleaned it and np now

I suggest downloading this: http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/
start doing a process that is not full screen so you can see the effect - burning a CD / converting a video file. If the temps start to rocket up - stop the process (if you get into the 90's) you can wait until it hits 99 then shuts off if you _really_ want to - but everytime this happens you risk permanent damage.
you will want to buy this: http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=s&hl=en&q=arctic+silver&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=18189668878466839951&sa=X&ei=DYdgT6_XMaOn0QWeyNSGBw&ved=0CGEQ8wIwBQ
as you can see it is very cheap so np there. detach your fan&heatsink from your cpu, clean gently the old compound from the cpu and heatsink, reapply new compound and re-place the heatsink on properly. start the PC up with the case open just to make sure the fan etc is all running properly - once booted up do the above process again with realtemp monitor and see if it has fixed your issue.
Just cleaned out my case, was alot of dust on the coolingblock on the cpu.
Now im runnin heavy duty processes again, and i see temperature around 52.
only the gpu is 77.
I believe its solved now.
Good to hear youve fixed it though!
All i had to do to fix was replace every single component in the PC! Actually it must have been the motherboard or CPU in the end because that did the trick.
