Headsets suggestion!?

Hello folks. Well, my zalman 5.1 headset are finally dieing (after 6 years), they kinda produce more sound at left side comparing to right side n stuff.

So, i would like to buy some new headsets, mainly for skype/ gaming (ET only, sometimes) / normal pc usage.
I though about buying the steelseries siberia v2, but according to some users here they are not worth the money. I don't like phones with that "huge" microphones near mouth, i prefer a clip microphone.

What's your suggestion? I though about buying some Sennheiser and then buy some external microphone (SteelSeries Siberia Gaming/Voip Microphone Black). My budget is around 50€ but i can spend some extra money if it's worth it.

Confortable / not heavy / good quality material and sound is a REQUIREMENT.

Thanks <3

It is pretty hard to find good headphones for 50euros, especially if your country has poor supply.
Actually i have no idea what's good and what's not good, but i've seen some apparentely cool headsets for 50€, thats why i said 50€ (i don't really wanna spend alot of money at pc right now..).

check this PT store

something like Sennheiser HD 438 or 418 seems good enough for me.

OMG AMAZINGLY CHEAP

I think almost every Sennheiser HD headphones are good. Don't have any experience of these cans tho:/
Parent
Yeah stuff is not that expensive over here, otherwise people wouldn't buy, considering our minimum salary is like 475€... paying 100€ for a headset is pointless :D

thx
Parent
sennheiser!
there is millions of different models, saying sennheiser doesn't help that much...
Parent
HD 419 is quite good
Parent
do u own one? whats your experience about the cable quality.. etc?
Parent
I had one

my brother asked me to "use it" and I never got it back, fucking dildo he is and I can say that I miss it. Sound quality was decent and I never had problems with the cable, it was very comfortable (compared to the one I have atm I never use it when I don't play, I prefer using speakers :x fucking uncomfortable). I would recommend it!
Parent
Haha ton bro t'a fisté!
Parent
oué c'est un gogol aussi

I got this Siberia v2 and I don't think that they are bad but if I could get new headsets right now I would go for some non pro gaming headsets - get good sound headsets and zalman mic :)

I would look for:
Creative Aurvana Live
Sennheiser HD419
or for something from Sony, AKG up to 50 €
It would be great if you could go to shop like Mediamarkt to try them out :)
Well Mediamarkt is fucking far away from my city, and i don't remember any store that allow us to test gaming headsets.. they usually have other kind of headsets (for home cinema n stuff / dj.. wtv) available...

Either way, thanks for suggestion. I wasn't aiming for zalman microphone though, had one but it doesn't own a mute button which would be really helpfull..(and i don't have it anymore, cat ate the cable loool )

I was going for siberia v2 mainly for the look :P
Parent
Like I said they are not bad :) really comfortable - my head don't feel them even after hours of hard gaming :D Only thing I can complain about is sound quality - its clear and nice without any wrong sounds but they don't have this something what makes it sound good in movies and stuff :)
Parent
i read that this headset got a neutral sound, without huge bass, etc but it got a nice sound overall
Parent
siberia v2 and not worth 60€? Awesome sounds, awesome mic quality, overall awesome
completely shit compared to some other brands
Parent
Can u enlighten me a little, coz i havent found a single fault on them?
Parent
had siberia v2 and I didnt feel comfortable at all in it compared to the hd 419, the sound quality is shit compared to hd 419 also! after a week I changed again of headset
Parent
hd 419 does look comfy as fuck tbh :D
but i think siberias sound quality is much more than enough, for my usage atleast.
I did some comparing:

HD419
Frequency response: 20 Hz - 20 kHz
Sensitivity:108 dB/mW
Impedance: 32 ohms

Siberia v2
Frequency response: 18 – 28.000 Hz
Impedance: 32 Ohm
SPL@ 1kHz, 1 Vrms: 112 dB

Guess its about users preferations
Parent
it probably is!
Parent
Sennheisers > Siberias in sound quality, don't know about position and so on tho
Parent
Too mainstream, pro gamers always use some superbaudiomonsterpro headphones and clipon mic, haven't u heard?
Parent
ye so mainstream omg!!!!
Parent
Well, you can't compare the quality of a sound company like sennheiser or sony, which have been producing this kind of equipments for ages, vs Steelseries... what most users and me mean is: for the price (60+€) it's not worth it because there is some other companies with better quality for same amount of money :P
Parent
+ this sir!
Parent
Well, i personally think that most of the people that say siberia v2 is shit, are mainly "lololol gaming brand stuff lol". I had some sony headphones before, also had creative fatal1ty for some time, and i can say that siberia v2 are much better (my opinion). I havent found a single problem with them, they fit ur head perfectly and are very comfortable, the sounds quality is awesome and so is the mic.
Parent
everybody dont have the same head you know what i mean xD
Parent
creative fatality
Sennheiser PC 151
I wouldn't mind but 165,00€ seems like alot for some headsets xD
Parent
fatal1ty ofc :)
Creative Fatal1ty HS-1000 Gaming
Simply awesome :)
Got the HD555

Get a pair headphones/clip on mic though dude, had this nearly 3 years and they still work bliss.

www.head-fi.org
discontinued, new version is HD558 and they are bit outside my budget :D 134,50€
Parent
Hmm I'm sure you can get the HD555 somewhere.. and btw you can easily mod the HD555 to the newer ones ;D Got the HD555 myself and they are awesome. check www.geizhals.at (choose EU in the left upper corner :P)

@edit: sry the mod was from 555 to 595.. so either try to get the cheaper 555 and mod it to 595 or simply buy the 595 ;D both the same great headphones.
Parent
seems rly expensive for me.. would rather have smth cheaper and good at same time
Parent
It's worth investing the money I think. You will have those headphones for a lifetime (fell from my desk serveral times, had coffee over them and the cable lasted 2 kittens) and the quality/comfort is really worth the price. You can easily clean them, replace parts, etc...

If you are interested for my used HD555 let me know ;D
Parent
what kind of mod were u talking about btw? how can u transform hd555 in 558 or whatever?
Parent
When you open the speakers, the 555 simply have some kind of plastic "glued" to the wholes going out to the outside of the headphones. You simply remove that with your fingers. The 595 doesn't have that. The 595 got all the same parts as the 555. If you order parts for repairing your 595 then it will be the same parts as for the 555.. except this little plastic thingy. It's not even real plastic.. you can say there is like some paper inside your speaker :D just google it. there are a few youtube vids.
Parent
Did the same mod.
Why do you still use your onboard audio? HD555 will sound much better with a good sound card.
My auzentech has headphone amp built in, much better than my realtek onboard :)
Parent
I have a laptop so I would need an external DAC ?

For listening to music I use my Sony TA-F690ES anyway ;P
Parent
hd201 for 3 years, but now build quality is shit in newest models -_- but sound quality is great for this price (20-25$?)
AKG :p
get a good soundcard first like X-Fi Titanium.
PC151 fits your budget/criteria perfectly, got a pair too.
They actually seem nice, but the design seems better at HD serie..having a inbuilt mic is not a must have tho...
Parent
that seems quite good actually, but i can't find Superlux anywhere at Portugal.. there is no company selling them :o
Parent
ye i saw, but the ship fee is way too much expensive.. 20€, bloddy hell...+ 35€ phones.. and i would need to buy some mic too... but i'm enjoying this headsets!

edit: do u have any experience with them?
Parent
No just was looking at dutch forums for headphones that they are cheap for what you get.
I got HD555 myself.
Parent
Crossfire, a rich community \o/

cheers and thx for the tips ;)
Parent
My HD555 was around 100 euro so not that expensive :)
And no problem.

Still got the SteelSeries Siberia v2 at home, but I dont use it anymore...got headache because im wearing glasses and since the earphones are taking the whole space at my ears it hurt after a time so I decided to get the Sennheiser PC 151, theyre good and the sound is really impressive.

Btw, if anyone wants to buy the Siberia pm me! They still work and are in a good shape!
