I've heard of both, but sadly you're asking in the wrong place. A few people here have experience with headphones such as Filus.

www.head-fi.org is probably your best bet though friend.

Typed whilst blasting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIoWstbBBFc through my senn555s
thanks mate!

What models? Audia Technica seems to have a good name, never heard of superlux but that can be my failure.
Parent
the Superlux HD-668 B is for all the ballers on a budget

Ohw lol I actually heard that one once. My brother sometimes bring 'random' headphones home from work since he's an audiophile and I have the oppertunity to use them for some time.
Parent

Parent

Superlux HD-668B or HD 661 if your budget is low, ATH M50s if you have more money to spend.

cant comment on the lowend stuff that superlux is known for, but the high-end Audio-Technica suck pretty much

do they need to be closed or are open headphones also ok ?

Low-Fi AT that i listened to (Audio-Technica ATH-AD700) did pretty ok , i enjoy my DT880 for movies and games alot
had just a ss v2 with sound card till now...doesn't really matter what type are they :)

Quotethe high-end Audio-Technica suck pretty much

thats completely wrong statement and you should never ever say that again

Thermaltake <3

But Siberia are also amazing..
had ss v2 + soundcard ... Was Ok, but could not say that the sound impressed me so bad :) was 10+ at comfort insted.

everything depends on few things:
1. budget, the most important part :)
2. environment (when you want no leakage and/or dont want to hear ambient sounds -> you need closed cans, otherwise it doesnt matter)
3. what you are going to put it in; some headphones are good only when they are driven good, and sufficient amplifiers can cost another 100-200 at minimum
4. what do you want them for, and this means which genres are you listening to, some headphones have sound signatures that are suitable only for certain type of music. Just for the info, headphones are not nearly as good as speakers for movies, movies needs spacious presentation which headphones just cant provide (but ofc, there are some which are better with movies than the others, but compared to speakers, they dont provide same entertainment)
5. personal preference, some people like huge bass drop, some want refined mids, some wants balance

I personally own 3 pairs of Audio-Technica headphones (ATH-EW9 for portable player, ATH-W1000X and ATH-W3000ANV for home use), I love all of them but I would say they are way above your budget.
Btw, dont listen to zafoga that high-end ATs suck, he doesnt know what he is talking about.
Thank you for your points mate.I will think about all your 5 points when will be the time to chose something new. Awesome headphones you have there mate, gratz. (can't even touch them in my country on that money :D )

Thanks again!

well, its same in our country, the most of my audio stuff was purchased from abroad. EW9 were bought few years ago from CZ, now they are obtainable even in SK, but back then there was only one shop I could find them in. W1000X are available in SK now, but the lowest price is around 750e, which is ridiculous. I got them for 630$ from international reseller (shipping from HongKong). And W3000ANV were bought second hand from guy from BE, he had 2 pairs and he was selling ones he wasnt using (basically they were completely new, he even packaged it in original triple box, the best part is I paid only 830e for them, if I wanted to get new ones I would need pay ~1300-1400$ + shipping + 25% as import tax). W3000ANV are unavailable in EU (there are only 2000 units sold worldwide, limited edition), maybe on some special request but normally they are sold officially only in Asia/USA. I think if they werent limited I wouldnt be attracted to them so much, but I couldnt resist and had to get them :)

Wow, that alot of money for some headphones :) could easily buy a decent car with them:D
Well, before my son's birth I was a "exchange" addicted :D with the gaming mouses. Bought/exchange it on forums with others and so on. only brand that i didn't tryed is R.A.T i guess.
All ended with the little one birth and when i found a nice and stable mouse,Xai. Would like to try the new sensei, but my mind stops me every time i want to buy it :DDDDD
Speaking of forums: got some offers for exchange with a deathadder this headphones: senn HD 428/429 and some thermaltake i think.Could tell me from your experience if any of this is good at home use,but for ET and others games also(maybe will have more time when ill move into my own home in a few months) ?
Thank you for your help mate!

Take care

I dont have any personal experience with those headphones so cant really judge them. But Sennheisers are well known to have rather good budget oriented headphones. From what I read about HD428, they seem to be very good choice for the money. As for the usage of headphones in games, when it comes to "professional" gaming (I mean you are not playing just for the fun and you just need to be able to locate your opponent by hearing them, no need for fancy bass heavy explosions and stuff), everything in and above 40-50e will work the same, no matter what. I used to have Icemat Siberia, Steelseries 5hv2, Sennheiser HD595 and now I have those audio-technicas. Ingame, there is no difference between them. For example, right now I still use ATH-EW9 for gaming, which are portable clipons. I many progamers use IEMs, so you dont really need to be worrying about performance of headphones in games.

Well then... all depends on the design choise :)
Parent
well i heard the W5000 (had them for 3 days) and the L3000 .... toooooo much treble

i listened to some of the higher ups from Hifiman be4 and i really liked what i heard which could aswell influenced my opinion on the l3000 , the source was a audio gd nfb10se that sounded quite neutral with my customs

Quote...i really liked...

thats the important part, just because you didnt like something it doesnt mean they suck. AT headphones have their sound signature, they are extremely "romantic" and no headphones come even close to what they can do to vocals. Of course there will be some differences between different AT top models, but they all share that sweet coloration known only to Audio-Technica. I know of many people who highly prefer AT models in certain genres over other high-ends, such as HD800, LCD-2 or T1. However, there are some genres where AT are trailing behind, such as classical music or jazz. But for pop, rock or metal, they are just so sweet sounding and so entertaining to listen to. "Problem" with AT is, they are kind of conservative and stick to their coloration pattern, which is love it or hate it. Same goes for design, not everybody likes their wing system and wood. However, I can understand the dislike towards W5000, they are probably the most arguable AT headphones they made. Thats why I got W1000X at first. But with release of W3000ANV they got everything to whole new level, they took every positive thing from W1000X and W5000 + they fixed their main flaws. Right now W3000ANV and L3000 are considered (arguably ofc, more people more tastes) to work the best for rock, pop and vocalistic music. For orchestral/classical music, you might want to look into other brands tho.

P.S.: NFB-10SE isnt the best source if you want drive AT headphones to the top.
