Sound card?

Hey guys,

I've got an MSI h67ma-e35 b3 motherboard with some sound technology"THX TruStudio PRO: deliver the fullest audio experience for games, music and movies" (i doubt it is that efficient)

I'd like to get a sound card to make the sound even better, the prob is that my budget is limited to 30€ max.

Do u think it is wise to get a sound card or should i keep using the mobo's sound?

I just sold an Creative X-Fi for 20Euro on ebay, so at least you could try and get similar (or better) used cards for that amount of money.
Didn't think about browsing ebay for that, I'll take a look into that. what sound cards do u recommend? (i don't know shit about sound cards)

I haven't really followed the market at all in the last years. At least in 2005/06 the X-Fi range was on top of the lists!

You got the fullest; you can't have moster fullest :/
got that card and not using it anymore:
http://www.amazon.com/Creative-SB0880-Express-Blaster-Titanium/dp/B001E25KDK

fully working, barely used and not using it anymore cause i replaced it with a saffire 6.
dont think it has warranty left but you can have it for 30 euros, if u want.
X-Fi Titanium tu peux pas test !
You cannot get anything worthwhile that will make a difference to desktop output from a MODERN motherboard for less than 100eu. It might make a difference for laptops and MAYBE older motherboards.

I have tried many and my favourite is NI Audio 6, it isnt being manufactured anymore because they have a shitter one now (also bought that). When I got it last summer it was £250, now its only £169 on one site or £200 on others. The best budget soundcard - I would say the TASCAM 144 MkII it is around £120. At your budget it is hard to say, I think I would go for the M-Audio Fast Track which is around £45, m-audio make good ones they just look shit (I haven't personally tested m-audio so can't say for sure). In upper mid the Focusrite Saffire 6 USB is also good (around £149) but I don't think the DAC converter is as good as the one that NI (Native Instrument) products use tbh, infact I think the DAC in NI products is awesome, one of the best even from higher end sound card that we ain't discussing here.
helped me pretty much, thanks for your answer

did you install the "thx blabla chipset/drivers" ???
did you try changing settings on it???

this stuff give a proper sound eventho my X-Fi 5.1 usb soundcard give better sound (atleast for gaming to catch where the enemy is)

i will say its not Worth to get a soundcard at 30 euros (even second hand, but maybe you got a real friend who give it at a nice price, like a titanium for 30 euros would be nice, anything lower than titanium isn't Worth 30 euros at second hand)
onboard sound is shit

well not on the motherboard he actually got.

i've got myself a similar chipset and its pretty decent for gaming :)

trust me, i've own myself 2 différents sound card, they were high quality at the time i bought it and its ofc not comparable but it isn't Worth getting a new soundcard for 30euros :)

but ofc you should have a 1000 euros sound card with your 300kg of weeds !
