2. What is the best gaming monitor in your opinion?
My favourites:
- BenQ XL2420T / XL2410T (anyone experience with the difference?)
- Viewsonic VX2453mh-LED
- Dell UltraSharp U2412D
- Samsung S24A350H
- ... your advice?
get a z77 board since it suppose gen 3 pci-e and virtu mvp that improves game performance. be more future proof so u dont have to change the motherboard when u want to change the graphic card :)
as long as it has 120 hz should be good yes? :P i got myself that 22 vx2268wm was like 250e few years ago and im happy enough, i guess newer models should be somewhat better
i only buy stuff when previous one blows so not really an expert :P
i got myself an old viewsonic 120hz and a LG LED 120hz (200euros or something) and the LG is pretty good, good quality, good colour,... the only thing is that you need to know if you can adapt to the "LED" Monitor! (its really brighter)
best gaming fps monitor is obviously one with 120hz
but picture quality - wise IPS monitors are way better (they maybe have a bit more lag but i think its much less noticeable then the way marketing deals with it - 2ms/8ms and all that crap)
What are you going to use it for?
2600K is usefull for it's hyper threading If you have no clue what it is you probably won't need it
Coolermaster CM690 Advanced is ugly IMO but has some nice price/feature set
120 GB ~ SSD is enough I think. What are you planning to install?
I own the BenQ XL2420T and it's awesome but a lower priced 120 Hz display will probably just as good for gaming I guess.
Mainly for browsing & multimedia - some casual gaming (like to play every game, but get bored pretty quickly)
don't care about how "nice my PC looks" tbh.. My thought is: I don't want to buy something & a year later go buy the same thing but something more fancy..
Durability > *
about the case, its a good case : nice feature, good quality, the only bad thing is the airflow : it isn't quiet
about the psu : i would go for something modular if you are bothering "cable management" and the style inside the pc otherwise, xfx should be a good brand.
about the gfx card : i would go for a cheaper/lower perf and then upgrade it one or twoo years later if you don't bother playing new games on high quality (then u'll stay uptodate with an upgrade in one or twoo years (i mean you can go for something like gtx560 if you're an nvidia fanboy or hd6870 if you can get one of those for a "good price")
And gaming monitor, take any 120Hz screen if speed is important, you won't see much difference in quality with tn panels. But if you want great colors while gaming you should take IPS monitor.
~2007 i bought my 7900gt, which was after the gtx one the best avi. i payed 330€ for it. im still using it, it does everything i want to (since im not interested in newer games after all - lucky me) but i would not ever pay so much for money for a pc part again. a year later you can buy it for half or even less the price. and its not that most people are really in need for such power at all. but its everyones own decision
Any advice on the monitor part?

<- Jelly, running with mobo which has frequency limit of 37 :(

for example
Replace Mugen 3 with 2.
And if you know how to overclock get http://tweakers.net/pricewatch/302726/samsung-m378b5273dh0-ch9.html this memory, look here http://gathering.tweakers.net/forum/list_messages/1492687
Got that memory myself and instead of running it on default 1333MHz 9-9-9-27 1,5v it runs at 1600MHz 7-8-8-23 1,42v. So it doesn't only overclock but also with less voltage than default. With ivy bridge it will easy do 1866MHz.
Also PSU can get replaced by this one, to save some money should also be enough for crossfire.
