Just for the sake of having it. Surely I could argue I can use it for movie editting, but in the end I just couldn't put a dual channel kit in a quad channel socket could I? :P
And more ram can't hurt, in a couple years it will be normal to have 16GB.

If you go overkill, you should do it good.
The memory that i have in my profile in pretty awesome 40 euro for 8GB and able to run 2000MHz on 1,55 v in combination with sb/ib the new 30nm samsung. Since my IMC is not that good i have overclocked it to 1600MHz 7-8-7-23 and undervolted it from 1,5 to 1,42

Could use a new mouse & headset. But keyboard, seriously I don't see any advantage in having some high-end razer keyboard or something. It just needs to feel good and that's sufficient.

Soundcard I don't use anyway, but for the sake of overkill I might consider an upgrade!

Why don't you have an SSD?
Why did you bought that motherboard?
And your screen is more like a television, Full HD on 27" looks awful when you look close at it.
If you buy 27" at least get a higher resolution.

some of these guys make me laugh, just coz you cant afford an alienware system u slag it off???, well my alienware is a quality build brimming with clever ideas and tech, build your own and fail when u realise you cant fit the cooling into the case etc, all in all its a beasty laptop, i have the aurora r3 with an i7 and a hd 6990 and its a monster, their customer service lacks in professionalism and they charge you alot but all in all its a good choice
