Any release date?
I read everywhere there's something tomorrow but they are not sure which Samsung device it is

Anyone knows anything about it? Need to replace my SII asap :(

Is it? Oh well, Im more than happy with my SII I got around New Years :)

Edit: I heard a rumour some time ago that Samsung would name their newest Galaxy (equivalent of SIII) the "New Galaxy", sorta like Apple did with the IPad. I died a little inside when I read that tbh.

theyre nice phones mate :) id love to see more and more new smartphones coming out tbh, instead of one or two good phones a year. the specs for the S3 look as if they'll be superb, i just hope its software can live up to the hardware!

edit : i just read it might have an 8 megapixel camera? WTF it better be 12.... or ill die a little inside too :<

The SII has a 8 mpix camera too and takes really nice pictures, then again its not only the mpix that counts. They keep on making the phones slimmer so there will be a sure cap of how good optics you can fit in something so slim. Look at the Nokia 808 pureview with its "41" mpix camera, it takes a shitload of space.

Well its pretty hilarious that some operators are advertising 4G connections here when not a single phone on the market here supports it. I'm not quite sure frankly, but I believe 4G is on its way here also. We tend to be among the first to get all kinds of new netork technologies.

t-mobile / orange have been testing it in southern england for the last 3 months and the speeds have been amazing for internet connections on mobile devices (average around 80mbps). it should be rolling out to major cities in the uk this year, but the more users it has, the more signal dilution there is....so not sure how revolutionary itll be by the time the phone manufacturers catch up with producing 4G handsets across the board...theres a big battle on just now between all the mobile phone networks bidding for the bandwidth to best supply 4G on :/ greedy fucks :/

wow that sounds pretty awesome. For now, over here the 4G LTE just seems to be a big consumer scam. Network operators are always greedy fucks, I think its a global thing :D Just the price for a regular broadband connection can be ridiculous in certain parts of Finland. Luckily I have a friend who works at my mobile network operator so he fixes me with good bargains :)

Samsung's software was good for Gingerbread, but for ICS it's pure shit. It completely removes the ICS experience and tries to replicate Gingerbread, which is what they are doing with the SGS3. I've had the SGS2 since launch and Gingerbread by Samsung was great, but the ICS update was so terrible that I was pretty much forced to install Cyanogenmod 9 (which is fantastic btw, haven't looked back). Samsung ICS made the SGS2 slow, buggy and crap, and the SGS3 will probably be the same.

Get a HTC One X mate, it's far superior. Or wait for the next Google phone!
