Advice on laptops!

Hey, I was hoping you guys could give some advice about laptop models with the following requirements:
Max display size = 14'
When connected to a 22´monitor it should be able to run a movie in HD
It will be used mainly to work, internet stuff, running some electronic circuits simulators (not to heavy), etc..
Price around 800€, max 900€
One more question should I wait for Ivy?
