Building a dedicated server

Hello crossies,
Just earnt a dedicated server. I'd like to use it for BNCs, website, and probably game server.
Which OS should i use ? I don't have any probs if it's Linux at all but wondering which one is best for this kind of management and which distrib aswell. And licences aren't a problem at all ;)

thank you

TC admin is pretty easy to use
Debian/Ubuntu - management? do it manually ^^ Else there is webmin for the server related stuff.TCAdmin is a huge waste of money
thank you marcus, on my way ;]

Ubuntu server 12.04 ? x64 x86?
Debian 6?

debian squeeze...

12.04 x86_64

There is no reason why you would go for x86 over 64

Ubuntu server and debian are very similar, go for Ubuntu for more support though

debian 5

debian/CentOS - Ubuntu
WIndows Server 2000
Just giving my opinion? Been using it for years with no problems, don't need no linux to show off man. MY windows gets the job done.
Parent
Well good for you if you think you can do whatever you need with it ;)
Parent
debian obv
debian/centos/fedora/gentoo

gentoo might be a bit problematic because it is "hard" distro

dont choose ubuntu, most fucked up distro ever
debian ofc
