Hi cf,
it was probably mentioned many times before but I was just browsing random stuffs on google and found this 3 years old news about Enemy Territory Live http://kotaku.com/5183223/id-considering-enemy-territory-for-quake-live-treatment . It's probably a dead project because there was no words about it since then but still... do you think that would have brought a fresh new blood in our dying community? I think it would be really cool :P
Have a nice life

FAF is a lobby that works both with the steam and GPGNet version of Supreme Commander. Apart from balancing the game the lobby has great features including auto-downloading missing parts. It also includes a built in IRC client connected to w/e server tehy're using for FAF.. in other words its great in what it has to do.
However for ET I still think distribution ( and fragmentation ) is the biggest problem, which something like FAF would not fix. I wonder why we haven't heard anything about this from id, the game is already there ( and porting it to whatever way they're using to execute native code through the browser shouldn't be so hard ) and so is a base community to get things going.
There is an amazing amount of talent in this community that if put together could easily create an amazing gaming experience that could extend the life of our dying friend for who knows how long. Individual efforts are sadly, a waste.
we would be able to build a fucking spaceship
The main problem is that QL has proven to be anything but a success, and the ad-generated model seems to have failed them thus far. I think that it is the future, but competition is fierce.
