its been ages since i last had math..
so can anyone explain to me how i solve:
x² + 10x +24 = 0

x=-4
x1 + x2=-b (-10 in this case)
x1 x x2= c (24 in this case)
So, you can kinda guess the x1 and x2, by looking at it
x1 x x2 = c/a
anyway ur right, here a=1 so it doesnt make any differnce
x = -6 => 36 - 60 + 24 = 0
x = -4 => 16 - 40 + 24 = 0
on a sidenote, I guess you forgot the important rule that L =|= {0}
( x - 6 ) ( x - 4 ) = 0
x = 6 , x = 4
D = B² - 4AC= 4
X1,2= (-B+-V(D))/2A
X1 = -4
X2 = -6

Shizzle = b² - 4 ac
shizzle > 0 ->
x1 = (-b+shizzle^1/2)/2a
x2 = (-b-shizzle^1/2)/2a
Shizzle = 0 ->
x=-b/2a
shizzle<0 -> no solution for real numbers
