LOEL nice fail
It's the default setting unfortunately and there also seems to be some sort of "feature" where if you change random video/audio/gameplay settings it reverts to The Americas again. It happened to me after a few days of playing and for a few minutes I thought my character was lost.

Wtf...

Seriously, this game is unfinished. The massive nerfs on monk e.g. completely fucked it up for many players & the loot system is fundamentally flawed.

Dno if I'll continue to play this game.

I haven't played monk yet, but I heard it was overpowered at the start. The loot system is probably only flawed because I heard that the AH is spraying good gear everywhere for pretty much affordable prices and as a result the blacksmith is mostly useless.

Then again I just intend to take the game less seriously and will try to just equip the stuff that the game throws at me while I'm playing through all the difficulty levels. The only problem I have with the game right now is that I don't have 40+ hours/week to keep up with all the other nerds and that it's just not that hard (even if you play solo 24/7). I haven't farmed any bosses and even then I think my character is stronger than it should be right now (e.g. I only die when I'm checking some settings and some mob of elites swarms me or when I fuck up against bosses).

Edit: The fact that PVP wasn't included in the original release pretty much says "UNFINISHED" in big, bright neon letters. I guess they just wanted to rush it out in time for the summer holidays.

QuoteI haven't played monk yet, but I heard it was overpowered at the start
it basically couldn't die because of the healing-mantra untill end of hell, squall should know it :P
As barbarian it's pretty hard to get any life with the skills you have, just some skill you can use every 10 secs, which you only get at level 54, the monk just keeps regenerating life and can get some more healing ontop of that.

The AH is not exactly selling to affordable prices, not at all times, some prices are totally ridiculously high, especially for legendary items.
Plus the smith weapons are already shit, even without the AH being involved. the only item i can use of it is a shield at the moment. the weapons you can craft are plain aweful for the level you're able to use them. at least until level 60 it's not worth to use it imo (havn't max'ed it out yet).

Ah ye, as soon as enough info on the monk skills was released, I'm pretty sure any diablo vet noticed how godlike his kit could be. I mean, healing in a diablo game? With that mobility, amount of stuns/knockbacks and hardiness?
Parent
Well I knew the monk was going to be OP when I read about his skills and even more so when playing him in the beta. How can they miss that themselves and not balance it before release?
Parent
They rushed the game, plain and simple. Just look at the patch notes and the details of the upcoming changes and you'll see there will be some pretty hefty balancing/nerfing. For instance I wish I saved up most of my gems since the gem combiner will probably go down from 3 gems to 2 (which is a pretty big change in my opinion).
Parent
Yeah, looks like they rushed it when it comes to balancing. Bit of a shame considering they had over a decade to get it right. Some of the issues were so blatantly obvious that they can only be explained by at deadline that forced them to make sacrifices when it comes to perfecting the game. Balance issues are not a dealbreaker for me though. I feel like this is less of an issue for those who play more casual and relaxed.

I haven't gotten the game, but if I do I will prolly play coop with a few friends or play alone. I would take some time to enjoy the game instead of rushing public games and abusing game mechanics. Not that there is anything wrong with playing like that, it's just that by playing the beta I learned that this game suits my needs perfectly (casual rpg player). The only time I understood people having problems with balance in a game was with PVP and end-game raiding in WoW and pvp in diabloII

Yeah, I don't think it's a bad idea to wait until the first few big patches. Like I said in a previous comment, I play casually anyway so it really doesn't bother me as much. It's nice to play with friends and taunt each other with good loot.

hahahhahahaha some noob from my class had that too he was QQ 2 the max :DDDD

how come you cannot notice that if it shows ur ms (ping) in the game, i had like 50 stable (meaning .eu), obviously if you have that line yellow/red and 150-250 ping ur not on europe
Haven't checked the ping tbh, but everytime I looked at the ms line, it was green.
Parent
Not that strange, I have 80-100 ms to most East Coast servers as well.
