motorcycle anyone?

Just started the motorcycle license today. Hopefully I will be done within 4 weeks. Going to buy some random supersport-bike (2004 or younger with 100bhp/ps or more).. gsx-r 600/750, cbr 600, smth like that.. for ~4000€ - 5000€. It's just for this summer I guess so I get to learn the machine and how to control it. Guess in the end it will get destroyed at the Hungary Panonia-Ring anyway. Next summer I plan on buying a completely new machine.

Triump Daytona 675r
Ducati 848 Evo
Duacti 1199 S (guess that will be too strong for me but will see after a test drive :D)
Honda CBR 1000RR
Or some yamaha maybe?

In any case I will do a test drive with all bikes and then decide for the one that feels right to me.

Anyone here driving similiar motorcycles or has been driving in the past? Would like to hear some recommendation on what to buy for the beginning as well as what could be nice for me in the end :P

ask rAzz_
BMW 1000 rr , Honda CBR 1000rr or Bimota DB7.

U can get some decent bikes for 5000. Start with a Suzuki GSX 750 F katana, its cheap and nice to drive!
sry no BMW for me.

I wonder if a 1000ccm is really what I need or if a smaller one (Daytona 675 r) would already be enough. I have never driven one. No idea what is possible with 120bhp/ps and 190bhp/ps.

bmw 1000 rr is the best, well i'd get some yamaha or small kawasaki i guess.

hate bikes
Think they may still work. My bike :) - http://www.zen98813.zen.co.uk/bikeeee/
4 weeks, thats real fast i think ?
Everything already planned. If everything goes right I should be done within 4 weeks.

Ducatis are really hard to drive for a beginner ...
Let's start with the Honda imo if u wanna select one of your propositions but dunno if you will any assurance for it cause u'll be a new driver ;)
Maybe just start with a Kawasaki Z-750 or a Honda Hornet 600
The way u sit on the Kawasaki Z-750 and drive it is different from what I want in the future? So wouldn't it be better to get smth with more supersport-feeling?
Parent
just try a hornet tho, sure u'll enjoy it
Parent
Would take CBR 1000RR from those you have listed. Yamaha R1 is also good bike.
to get crashed after 2mins of driving due to the non experience yeah ...
Parent
R6 then and R1 for the next summer :) . I would start with some 600cc if im completely new with bikes tho.
Parent
I will not buy a R1 right away.. as I said.. this summer I will drive with smth old/cheaper/slower.
Parent
Lots of beginners are starting with Suzuki Bandit or Honda Hornet.
Parent
Ive heard that Bandit is pretty good. Also here in Finland it got pretty cheap insurances. Pretty cheap to buy also, atleast older ones. Only if you like how it looks.
Parent
the older model of Bandit looks better in my view cause for the new one, your positioning looks better on it.
Parent
Thats the bike I have as you can see from my link and pictures above and it is NOT a bike for somebody who has just passed there test.

Triump Daytona 675r

wow 1,92 is rly tall.. i'm 1,80.. i hope the bike will fit me as well :o
Parent

Don't even think about getting anything +600cc or +110hp, I wouldn't get a sportsbike as a first bike anyway. You should get some 600cc naked bike like hornet, fz, er-6n first and do your first wrecks with them. 1000cc sport bikes are pretty useless and you shouldn't be considering them, they're expensive, heavier and so on. I drive hornet 600 myself and it's very sufficient, easy to kill yourself with, wheelies or wheelspins @ 1st gear and that's enough power for me. The 1000cc power kicks in +180kmh and as a beginner you'll drop dead quickly if you're doing that.
Agree with Maza his recommendation.

Started with the CB600F hornet from Honda myself.
Very reliable bike, easy to control and enough power, you won't get bored of this bike easely.
Parent
er-6n looks good for girls due to the weight & due to the fact that its a small motorbike.
Parent
Good bike for beginners = good bike for girls :F It has low seat height which makes it easy to handle even if you're not pro with the clutch, also it's cheap and overall good bike =) It has surely enough for a beginner and it has lovely sound with some leovince!
Parent
Well I will learn at driving school with smth like a hornet. But I planned on buying some supersport as first bike.. but ye only with 600ccm.
Parent
why supersport?
Parent
those are made to race, beasty is learning how to drive so a racebike is not the best way to start
Parent
but I will end up driving with one.. so shouldn't i start leaning with one? also planing to learn driving it on the Hungary panonia circuit.
Parent
No not really, obviously you can do it but if it's your first time on motorbikes I wouldn't do it. What bike you should get depends on how you're gonna use it, longer traveling, commuting, for enjoying curvy roads etc.
Parent
mhaw.. if you buy a 600 or something like that....couldnt do any harm...

..it depends.. how beasty handling himself in traffic...if you have experience driving a car for a few years..its a plus..
Parent
Yup he can start with 1000cc too if he's good enough of a driver, but I rather assume he's not. Just naked 600cc bikes are much more comfortable to start with, that's all.
Parent
thats true....but if you drive a month on a naked 600....starts to get boring!!
Parent
how does supersport add excitement in comparison to naked bike? oO slightly more power and less torque and that's it?
Parent
if you drive a ducati naked 600 and a triumph 675 you feel the difference

I am not saying it isnt saver to start with a naked...but I know myself and I have a car for 14 years and have some more experience at the road...

think beasty got the same feeling if he starts with a naked 600....becouse he wants a racer.
Parent
definitely yeah
Parent
it's not my first time on the road btw.

driving with a 170bhp car for 1 year know, first car was some smaller one with quickshifting and some crap tuning :D Total 3 years. Also drove 6 months as a truck driver.
Parent
im a psychic I knew there'd be a chain here started by you, mopot on jonneille XD
