gfx/screen problem

heyyo
i've been getting this for few weeks now, i can live with that but it's quite annoying to reboot my PC like few times a day when it occurs. the problem is that sometimes I get this (I made a pic of my screen by my mobile):

i noticed that it happens almost everytime when I close ET and want to open ET once again. (at least it was like that yesterday, i closed et after offi and when i wanted to open it again for next one, i got this and again and again :D)

anyone got something similar in the past? any ideas what might be the reason? is this my screen or my graphic card (nvidia 6600gt which is lololo just old :)
I've already cleaned from a dust inside my pc.

lol cleaning dust isn't going to solve anything like this. Alot of people think they know so much about computers but don't.. I know that most people think cleaning out dust will make the graphics card and cpu run faster. This is just not true.. Dust is not going to slow the performance down of any hardware, it has nothing at all to do with it. Dust removal ensures good air flow, keeping system from overheating, that's all.

You can try rolling back and updating graphic drivers and chipset drivers. Use the updates from your manufacturer, NOT Windows update service.

Ofc its true, if the dust is causing overheating and when you clean it surely it will run alot smoother if the card is on normal temperatures and not overheating :)

The card doesn't lose it's hard-coded specifications when it's dusty.

yea but I haven't cleaned it for months, so at least I got an opportunity to do this :P

but anyway I uninstalled old drivers, and installed a new one so let's see B)

Seems you don't know much about computers. Dust and other dirt causes overheating problems in most cases and therefore CPU and GFX performance will endure.

If you're using a different resolution in ET that could possibly be the thing causing the problem too. That would make me believe there could be an issue with the monitor or the cable connecting the monitor to the graphics card.

yea i've been using different resolutions for ages. 1680x1050 in windows and r_mode 8 (1280x1024) in ET but I only got this issue for few weeks :\ let's see if new drivers will help. i'm gonna play some ET in the evening so I hope the problem will disappear :P

new drivers, if they don't work then your graphics card needs replacing

try to reinstall ur gfx drivers, check ur VGA(screen) wire, if doesn't succeed i'd advise you to buy new gfx card

I have the same,but only in ET and only on fun mods like gaymod,nq etc.

Didn't find reason yet...

Solution for me is to put computer to "sleep" mode and then it turn on...

:{ sleep mode takes some time also, so i can as well do the reboot every time :P

my pc is full of s*it so reboot takes almost 10minutes...

sleep mode 1min and its kay :)
