I'll never understand hooligans (or people resorting to violence in general), to me, they are on the same evolutionary stage as a monkey throwing its own poo. I'm an avid football fan and go to many games, but I have never been in a fight or been in trouble with the police.

Sadly football attracts the lowest of the lowest life forms, who use football as an excuse to misbehave. Although I have to say that the general atmosphere on the field contributes to bad behaviour. There's too less respect and fair-play. Winning and money are all that counts, no matter how they achieve that.
