Do you get better loot in hardcore? Never really understood why people play that unless you got nothing to do all day, and the countless hours you put in a character don't matter. I mean ur actually afraid to die, which i guess can be a cool experience, but to avoid dying you only play A1 over and over? Sounds pretty boring to me.
Softcore is boring as fuck when you get good gear unlike Diablo2. Hardcore serves a purpose that you need to find/craft somewhat decent gear and continue yourself through inferno slowly it's impossible to go glass cannon and die all the time to get good gear.
Better dont buy it yet , if you play just 1-2hrs per day its fine for you but if you aim for fast leveling and clear the content better wait ... first 3 modes are fun but inferno is just shit .. itemcrafting shit , infero raremobs shit , DONT PLAY BARB UBERSHIT!

I made the butcher 5/6 times yesterday with 5 stacks of nephalem and my magic find stuff, I looted a 2M5 item, some other yellow/blue items and around 500k gold.
I think butcher is not that bad for farm, I have around 3 yellow and 5 blue when I kill him and that's not too long.
800 res is nice, you play barb or monk? If you play barb you should get a nice 1 hand weapon with life on hit and a storm shield with 30% block chance, dunno about monk shields but LoH weapon is good for monks also.

i got ~ 800 resi 38k HP and 19k damage (2hand............) its hard to find good stuff with armor vita and resi on all :/
