If you don't care about the buttons, I'd try and pick one out by the grip. You don't want to get something that makes your hand cramp, or doesn't feel right. With the Logitech/Razer gaming mice these days, you can't really buy a "bad" gaming mouse — they're all pretty good.
Only mouse that felt the same way was the G400 :)
Just giving advice :)
":D"
Xai/Sensei: they offer great features but no real gimmicks ( one could argue that the ARM processor in the sensei is a gimmick, but it has some great benefits ). When going to LAN you never have to install any drivers because the xai just knows its settings. When I got it I plugged it in and played, literally as the default value was already on 450dpi. These mice have a big surface under the mouse itself: this is GREAT. It makes the mouse feel perfect when moving over any surface.
G400: Same sensor as the xai and the sensei, I don't know how well you can customize the settings but again: same sensor, so if the xai allows you to customize more its probably the interpolation done by its internal processor. The g400 has a right handed grip which is probably nicer to hold than the ambidextrous grip of a xai. Should also be noted that these sensors are made for low sensitivity only and when used with high DPI modes it will have acceleration no matter what you do.
Razer mice: you pay a lot and get plastic mice that make noise when you squeeze them. Scroll wheel dies within a year. Should be noted that razer usually has a fairly good sensor.
Some other brands you might want to look in to:
- Zowie
- Mizuno
- Roccat ( though I don't like them because of their extreme notion that we need those voices to buy their crap? )
One thing, don't fall for the marketing terms used by these companies ( especially razer and roccat do this a lot ). As any company states that they have awesome sensors and blabla they usually just buy them somewhere and a lot of mice have the same sensor ( as shown with the g400 and the sensei / xai ).
It is really just about the feeling, don't be scared to just try something out ( or if you have a local hardware store go look if they got one so you can feel it.. ). I think the grip and the sensor position are one of the most important things about the mouse.
great mouse if it doesnt jitter. ultra light, hardly any prediction, great track, price is around 30 euro

eventho i recently bought a steelseries kana and it feel better than with my da
-OPTICAL (END OF DISCUSSION ON THIS MATTER TILL LASER GETS A BOOST IN ITS OWN DEVELOPMENT DUE TO RESPONSIVNESS AND ACCURACY LEVEL)
-400-2000cpi
-around 110g or less in weight
-5 buttons MAX
-IF POSSIBLE TEST BEFORE BUY, BECAUSE OF HAND SHAPE+GRIP, this is personal taste but makes monstruos diference when managing mouse
-around 110g in weight
-5 buttons MAX
on fps more than 5buttons(including middle wheel buton) is ultra mega overkill
