saw one episode of dexter and got kinda bored, does it get better after the first episode? forgot to put sons of anarchy on my watched-list. must say i found it very amusing to watch, every episode of it.
hmm yea i understand that, thats how most of the series are build up but somehow i didnt really got the feeling that I would start to like it when the characters would all be build up. (if you get what i mean, my english is kinda poor atm)
Haven't seen too many episodes of Dexter myself, but I found them quite good actually. Like all the different narrative strands that are going on at the same time. Quite exciting. But I guess it's like Lost, it's only good when you watched at least two seasons.
I only saw the pilot episode of Sons of Anarchy, don't really like the characters. It seems like they are trying too hard.. but maybe should give it another try.
I've been watching Dexter, but it just feels like a show that is made to make idiots feel intelligent. Like it is attempting to be subtle, but anyone with more than two brain cells finds it massively predictable.
I'm not sure, I can only talk about the stuff I've seen so far which wasn't a lot. As I said I just found the narrative strands of it interesting based on how people are connected and what they actually have in common. Read about how some relation-ships develop during the seasons, most of that was quite predictable indeed. But they don't make a secret out of who's the murder anyway, do they? It seemed throughout quite obvious who killed whom and who will be killed next, that's true.
Rome is better in the sense that it is more of a slow burner than Spartacus. Spartacus is action packed to the max though. Both are very good, I prefer Rome myself. If you watch Spartacus then watch the second season first as it is a prequel to the first season.
After season 1 the main actor was diagnosed with blood cancer, so they decided to do a prequel instead of the planned second season. In the "real" second season Spartacus is played by another actor, because Andy Whitfield died.

The Killing is USA version of a Danish series called "Forbrydelsen", Its crime drama that includes a murder / family/person things / politics, its two season only ( they might make 3rd, but it has new "story" then i guess ). Its definitely worth of checking out, u prolly will see after couple episodes alredy if u like it or not. I pretty much watched the season one straight after first episode since i liked it alot!
Covert affairs aint really special, women working on CIA / new story on every episode / little main story behind, but its fun to follow if u dont have anything better to do.
Again, if you like prison series, OZ is a must see.
