pbprior and if you're lucky you'll get it working

on pbprior options set actualization to 10secs

You dont really need to edit things, unless you have fps problems.
If so use the above mentioned programs.

only use one core. no need to use both.
won't give you any fps boost.

in my case (yes back in 2006) i had fps drops with using both cores.
