Interrail tips

Going to my first interrail with a few friends next month and since you nerds have spread out all over Europe, I'd be delighted to hear some recommendations of must-see-cities, activities, accomodation etc. :)

We start from Budapest and end in Barcelona a month later.

Take sleeper trains but don't bother paying extra for the beds. Always buy beer & food before you board for a long trip (duh!). Say hi to people. Where you can chat with the locals for the best tips.

Munich is a shit hole but there's many travelers there. I didn't manage to stop (apart from the train breaking down on the border) but Slovenia looks so goddam beautiful. Riding through it with ancient castles on spectacular mountaintops. Awe inspiring shit right there. Google 'Bled Slovenia' & look at the photos. Caves @ Postojna & beautiful Ljubljana. This'll be where my next real trip is!

ah well, there probably are some castles on top of hills, but the only one i can remember is the one in bled, dunno

Thats a bit harsh calling munich a shithole. I think its quite the nice city especially during the summer when there arent as many drunktards as in september/october

There seems to be a permanent encampment of intimidating homeless people based outside the train station & just dodgy looking characters stalking the streets. Smashed off their face & looking for trouble. I saw a few brutal fights which just flared outta nothing.

But it also rained & I was ill so not the best time!

Oh well you might be right about the stationarea that is probably kinda dodgy. But the rest of munich is quite nice and clean. Living for nearly 2 years in munich now and i had more trouble with retards in my little village i lived before than i ever had in munich.

I guess you have to know which Areals you should avoid ;)

Dresden -> Prague -> Bratislava -> Budapest -> Belgrade -> Zagreb -> Ljubljana

That was our tour last summer. Ask me if you got any questions regarding those cities.

Can you recommend any hostel in Budapest because Tripadvisor is not so trusted anymore :) Also, any great must do activities? (baths??) or something else worth visiting?

Good fucking choice. Budapest is one of the best places I've ever been to. We stayed at an apartment, which was quite cheap, so look out for those to rent over the internet.
Also, go to the szechenyi bath. Really relaxing and fun to watch the locals there.
Walking up to the castle is recommendable aswell. Beautiful view from up there. And go to that Rio club. It's right at the river and was pretty crowded when we were there.

Not Sweden, not Brazil, not Norway, not Italy but Hungary has the most beautiful girls. Budapest will reveal that truth. :)

Slovenia is a must see country! Lljubljana and Bled especially.
