Hello chaps
Yes it's time.
Anything people are looking out for? I'm tempted by the Star Wars bundle. I remember having so much fun playing some TIE Fighter game years & years back, have never played any of the newer versions.

I HATE YOU
The good thing about this site was the interaction with people the world over & conversations diverging & meandering. Doesn't seem as many people willing to reply (or perhaps not as many interesting people commenting!) to develop this. It's gone through slumps before you'll pull it back.
and lol yeah, GW wouldnt be pretty
And jeez it's a ball ache to install .o/
'Cannot load the TZAC driver. Please try again or start TZAC as administrator once' - pff I've only the one login on here.
for TZAC.. hm, didnt work running it as admin (right click -> run as admin or smth)?
Do you feel a similar angst for the hundreds of thousands of other products that you don't buy direct from the vendor? Jeez I hate having to buy my beer from that goddam middleman at the pub. Why can't I just stick me neck out at the distillery?!?!
electronic products in these case games the middle man takes an enormous maney share from each developer just by doing nothing
meaning the if developers would earn what people really pay for games they would care to make great games
I'd imagine the reason you're trying to separate the two is that you're either embarrassed of your virtual self, or you're trying to morally justify virtual theft (which is fine I do it too).
There's a cost to distributing games. There's a cost to advertising them. There's a cost to processing transactions. There's a cost to paying wages, paying taxes & building maintenance. There's a cost to time. Were the developers to take on these costs; you know what, they're spending less time developing games.
If the distributor was taking too large a cut to make the development cost effective we'd see no games. Or we'd see competitors out there undercutting Steam.
They provide a much needed valuable service. The best way to keep studios in production is to purchase their products. The best way to avoid online privacy is to offer a high quality easily accessible product at an affordable price. Seems to me Steam slots into this role perfectly.
"I'd imagine the reason you're trying to separate the two is that you're either embarrassed of your virtual self, or you're trying to morally justify virtual theft (which is fine I do it too)."
lol and no+( there is no such thing as virtual theft, unless someone hacks or breaks trough ur computer )
you are not making any sense
"If the distributor was taking too large a cut to make the development cost effective we'd see no games."
"It's real people eating eating real food, drinking real water breathing real air."
they do it like this because they actually gota eat
"They provide a much needed valuable service."no
" The best way to keep studios in production is to purchase their products." yes but not to third parties
Try sentences and paragraphs please.
In that case booking.com gets around 20-25% of the price and most of the times the ammount that remains for the hotels is not enough to make profit but at least they can cover some of their monthly costs.
The only reason that hotels use the services of booking.com and similar websites is because they are better known by the majority of the public. Like you said, the hotels don't have the money or time to focus on marketing and make their own website as known while booking.com can spend all their time and effort in getting more hits.
The point that I agree on with quabratolas is that hotels would prefer and can only survive if there are enough people who book directly with the hotel or in the case of games buy the game directly from the publisher simply because they don't get enough money by using the services of a booking.com or steam. Again I suppose these situations are sort of similar but I can imagine that there are things that I am forgetting about :P
First of all, the prices are higher then the actual Physical copies, without an apparent reason.
And second issue are regional pricing. Games in Europe are about 33% more expensive then in USA and 200-400% more expensive then in Ukraine/Russia.Again without a real reason except them wanting more profits.
And the whole holiday sale concept is joke, because you can buy most of those games elsewhere without a sale for the same price that Steam is selling at during the sale.
Regional pricing is just a way of life that we see with everything. Sucks to live in a wealthy country!
Unless you're really, really dying to play the game RIGHT NOW, which I doubt since you didn't buy it up until this point, then I don't see any reason why you would buy it on steam.
As you mature you'll realise the price is a very cheap affordable one & it's just as convenient to purchase without really noticing the cost.
Feel so robbed.
