tbh the game really looks amazing, no CoD-like bullshit with 100 weapons and 500 upgrades and shit, simple FPS, one weapon, easy to understand for spectators etc...

Well it depends, would you compare trackmania with a modern age racing game and say it's horrible?
Personally I would say games like T:A or QL is much more appealing with their surface metagame and diversifying functions, but I did not see them pick up as much as wanted or they are riding fast to death. I would recommend atleast trying shootmania.
don't listen to haters. The game is good, they think it's shit because it's different. They just want to have another quake like. This game has (almost) nothing to do with quake. Movements are really different and I can tell you 99% of new people don't get how to use it and some haters still didn't understand how to use it.
maybe some are ql lovers yes, but not the majority
the movement is idd different to ql/mods, ut, warsow, - but it matches somewhat with the movement of tribes ascend. im one of the 99% who dont get it to use it properly, maybe because i just played it like 90 mins and got enough of it.
most annoying thing is the fps. turning everything down to the lowest possible... still stuck and unstable 30 fps infight. the main gun is wierd with its 4 shot 1s reload for another shot timing.
its beta so still loads of improvements have to be made and will surely be made. but the beta in total doesnt look as good and promising as most people expected it to be.
True about fps, it doesn't fully use your GPU, too bad. I'm around 100 fps not stable. I'm sure you didn't try elite mod (competitive mod - 3vs3) :)

nope i didntt, and my 7 days beta run out already, so i guess i wont play it ever again, besides the final release will have loads od freakin awesome critics (which i actually doubt ^^)

and as far as i understand it is played 3vs3 competitive, so no big deal to find 2 friends to play with !
