DayZ, anyone?

I'd like to know if anybody here is playing DayZ.
Was just watching a few videos, gameplay seems rather interesting.
Actually I was intending to buy GW2 today but I think i found something else xD

I don't recommend you buying it right now since they've officially announced DayZ as a standalone which will be way cheaper :)

yes but there is no information yet on how and when it is going to be released as standalone alpha build :/
And I`m so eager to try it!

The standalone should be out late October / early November. I suggest you not to bother with the current mod for ArmA since the amount of hackers who are just out there to teleport to you and kill you is just too damn huge. Looting gear for 30 mins up to several hours and getting killed by a hacker afterwards is insanely irritating.

Well, Rocket said it will be released before Christmas and now DayZ is infested with hackers (about 60% of community). You can hide in private servers but they usually charges additional 5$ to prevent hackers joining the server. And it's still in alpha so there are yet many technical issues.
If you are buying ArmA 2 just for DayZ then it isn't worth it since DayZ is not yet finished game (but ArmA itself is a great game and totally worth the money).

I'm not into tactical shooters I prefer action so it would've been just for the mod. I'll wait until the end of the year then. Maybe I'll try a private version aswell see if I like it that way

if youre not into "tactical" shooters and just like "action", dayZ might not be the best game for you aswell, since its a lot of waiting and sneaking and pretty less shooting

wait for DayZ standalone (hopefully with a good anticheat) or maybe WarZ. DayZ for Arma 2 is full of hackers and not funny anymore. I cant find a server without cheaters @ godmode, hackers teleporting every player on the server at one point and kill them all, cheaters running around with overpowered weapons that you normaly cant play with etc etc. Believe me you wont have fun at DayZ atm. Fking cheating scumbags ruining every good game.

i doubt anyone is still playing it.
the hype was strong like 2-3months ago but the game only offers enough content/mechanics for 3 days of fun.
