Dear users, here is a little article.
Before you read i will add this:
- I know there is already a lot of whine about CF 4.0, but i just intented to write a column with actual pageview facts
- I know that a lot of people already wrote about this particular subject, but i still try to add some decent content
- My english isn't that good.
Crossfire these days is mostly filled with boring content to no content. I know I shouldn't whine, its not that I add that much good content, but for some reason it doesnt feel as good as it did before. Everytime i check cf these days, no new content is added and most journals lack a decent story or nice pictures. 6 months ago, before the release of cf 4.0, the site was in my opinion more active and more fun to read.
Because i was curious to the statistics of crossfire due to webtraffic, i looked up the current webtraffic with Alexa(wich is not 100% guaranteed, but still quite good). http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/crossfire.nu#
You can see clearly that Alexa estimated a drop of pageviews in the last 3 months of 57.56 %.
And let's be honest, a little drop is ofcourse normal, since et is a dying game. But crossfire was the forum that kept the game quite alive for some time, with an active community on crossfire.
Now that Crossfire 4.0 is released, less and less users visit crossfire, wich is such a shame, really. I dont know if changing things back to 3.0 will help to revive ET and CF, but even with a lan comming up, i dont feel confident that ET will last long. Although i'm not to positive about both the future of CF and ET, i'm looking forward to the upcoming months with Adroits and one of the last EC's and ESL tournaments. Keep them comming, and keep creating good content.
tl;dr = Pageviews of CF are dropping by +/- 60% the last 3 months. Cf 4.0 a good decision?

there is not even a date to the events column, you have to click to see dates..
Even i'm bored as fuck and cba anymore.
CF4 is just too demotivating to even look at.
I really can't mock the new design, it works, looks kinda cool. But there should be some tweaks.
Some of the known contributors & community members have just disappeared, not sure why, summer? Or just because of the site?
Hard to contribute, especially the news-section, edit something = news disappear, wait for admin who isn't there to see it again.
As an admin, nothing works anymore, bogus-accounts, spam, bla bla bla. Can't handle them, site-wise.
And one of the biggest issues, it seems like Toss & other "big" guys have just abandoned the site. Nobody really cares.
Sure, there are several reasons for everything, I guess. But they could have been explained or dealt with. Now there has been nothing. So why to be interested about the site.
Enough rant, I shall still be here checking the site few times a day, but don't care about it that much anymore. I hope it will be fixed at some point, but it will be late soon if the normal users get the feeling that it is gone for good.
Make a poll about keeping CF 4.0 or go back to CF 3.0 (One of the admins who's left?)
easy as
It looks like they tried something, noticed the big failure and decided to leave it as a shitty website browsed by 200max users
