Need laptop help

Looking for a new laptop for the new school year that's about to start. Unfortunately I don't know anything about laptops/computer specs and as such, don't have any idea on what to buy. My budget would be around 800 euros.
After viewing some of the older journals, I've been looking at the Lenovo Ideapad Y580 so would like some opinions on that (eventho I'd prefer to buy it in Belgium and have yet to find a shop that sells them..).

No idea. My father bought one there some months ago (he only uses it to check his mails uring the week end as he has a company laptop from monday to friday) so I can't tell you if it s worth the € 500

EDIT: but from what i've seen, it runs perfectly. I wonder if the after-sales service is decent though

this will definitely be enough for school, i dont know why people recommend you to go i5 or i7 processor when you clearly wont need a high end laptop for school stuff.

And yeah, im prettymuch assuming you dont need a high end laptop for school since if you did ICT, you would know a thing or two about the hardware ;)

If you intend serious hardcore gayming, video editing and whatnot, you might need something better, but if not, this will definitely be good enough (and it seems quite alright price/quality wise)

I want to game a bit :-) only ET and some of the newer games perhaps once in a while if possible. I don't need a good pc for school

if you want to play ET only, this will be fine (eventho i don't really know if you will get 125stable fps, due to tzac and quake engine) if you want to play newer games it will just be unplayable (maybe you wont even be able to launch those)

you could have a look at medion "erazer" or "akoya" laptop (basicly its msi laptops rebranded with few other hardware)

first go fo what you want:

performence or quality for movies etc//

now if you have enough money - combine!

go for pc with i7 first
if you still have money, go for 17inch screen :~>

Unfortunately I don't speak hebrew :D and I don't need a screen seeing as I'm going home from my studying home on weekends and need to take my laptop with me :) thanks for the comment tho
