Just 11 days till payment deadline and only 7 teams paid, with Anexis and colt45 apparently not going (but included in LAN promo).

What's going on Europe players? y u no go lan? Y U KILL ET?! Sean lowered the entry fee 19 days ago and you still do this? you guys suck :x

First of all, i dont see the point in playing at LAN. I get it if you are a highskilled team and will probably win it and get ur money back. But for others, it is just waste of money and time. Yeah now i probably get that oh its for fun and so on. With the same amount of money i can go see the Europe or go to somewhere warm. No wonder that most of the LAN players are from nl/be. Its like 50km from your home. Also not any respectful skilled teams in LAN. That is just my opinion.

LAN costs me around 400e, that isnt much for 6 days of fun. And I cant see Europe for that money nor am I from Belgium or NL

you got a very good point tbh. I'm even from belgium and i think its too much money for me to just go and not even play. Let alone think what you have to pay for travelling & hotel etc...

This is something I've seen people write before and I've never really understood this. You make it sound like people would directly teleport from their homes to the LAN centre, play their games and teleport back. My LAN trips have usually been around 6 days long and I've always been to 3-4 different cities in different countries. Besides the games played at the LAN centre I do pretty much what I'd do on any other holidays: go see places I wanna see, visit local bars and clubs, eat in restaurants and have a great time with the company I'm travelling with.

Obviously someone from NL living close to the LAN centre can go there to just play the games and leave after that, but for me the tournament is just one part of the trip. Also I have to say that very often the travelling part and staying in different cities with the other Finns has been the most memorable part of the trip.

Yes, I only have friends from the gaming world and these are the only trips I have ever made or will be making in the future. When I'm not going to LANs, I just sit at my home on my PC playing games all alone.

I wish I had many cool friends and an amazing life like you do :(

Man, i get your point. Your trip would be visiting the LAN and seeing some cities and stuff. Lets make an example. If you go see the Europe etc without the LAN, lets say it costs 500 euro. If you go see the Europe and go to the LAN and play pc game for 3 days straight and pay 800-900 euros. That was my point.

to be honest, you have a good point. 've been wondering the same for some time already. not really much interest, lack of good teams and bad coverage. i hope for this lan to see 9 more last minute teams, but i think et should be happy with 3.

Its a shame that you have 100's of these teams playing OC/ESL yet cant form to make lan teams and get a minimum of 16 teams to go. Its just not financially viable for us to attend, neither Anexis to send us based on the signups and the prize pool.

Dont get me wrong, Lan isnt about the winning money, but you are looking at around 500 euros to attend minimum (for anyone outside of central EU). After attending every lan since cdc4, with the high costs and the low teams, the motivation isnt there to attend.

I dont really see how your situation is any different from the one of ~90% of the people attending the LAN.

Most of us have high expenses and that without having even a little prizemoney in sight.

This is truely going to be the last real ET LAN. Even if people don't play I hope you can come for a drink. It's a shame some of the bigger players who cried out for more LAN events have now decided it's not worth signing up! You know how I roll boys, I will be there no matter who is playing or how many teams gonna be there.
