Casting ET? Help!

Okay so i have a free evening tonight, is ANYONE able to stream ET with xsplit etc to own3d? - I can give you login to a decent stream channel and all that jazz with quality settings...

Anyone down?

nah i really just want to try and cast ET and with my time usually destroyed by CS:GO / CSS / CoD4 / work / content its a rare chance.

I know about the viewer count and such with sponsor but I doubt that at this point that will help ET, so I prefer just to make it the most enjoyable for the viewers. anyway, do you actively use IRC?

not on a regular basis its mostly skype, Its not just down to that. For someone from my twitter for example they could enjoy watching ET but just listening they would have no interest so im trying to keep everyone happy.

sync audio really should be a thing of the past.

But I prefer to spec the player I want to see, if streaming offers opition to pick the player you want or follow the caster that would be it, and I also expect this to be the next big thing in streaming.

yes but sync audio is exactly the same, it just offers less. You can still watch any player you want on ETTV with a video stream. I doubt that there will be the option to watch whoever you want in video streams - the tech needed alone would make it difficult and the upstream would be insane.

The problem with a stream is that I have no clue how to sync the audio of the stream with ETTV.

I didn't say that the 'choose a player you like'-stream is going to be easy but it is possible, it will take some years till we research the bandwith but yeah techonology goes faster than anyone thinks.

Being able to watch any player you want or using freecam is the best feature of ETTV and watching a stream takes that away. Obviously if the spectator is really good at his job he will have the right view at the right moment most of the time to make the watching experience enjoyable in general. However if you want to watch the game with a specific purpose, which could for example be watching how a certain player plays for the whole game or watching the game from freecam alone to see what kind of tactics and positions both teams are using, you can't be doing that via stream with a 'locked' image.

Streams are good for the majority of people, but ETTV offers certain advantages, which streams can't offer you. And if you are watching the game from ETTV, having the shoutcast on the side would be a huge plus.

god if i had time i would, i randomly pick up a 3on3 here and there but it was the people i played with that made ET so special to me and most of them have moved on too sadly

im up for it on some others games but atm i got rooter/network problems :< works fine after 21cet tho xD

just get someone with winamp shoutcast server and stream only sound and not video :) people like to listen while in game, instead of that "bad looking" qualities on own3d tv etc. Besides ask gtv admins how to add it to that match they will help ya.

not good enough 2mb but my CPU runs at 99% with xsplit and any game pretty much
