Problem with getting new players to ET.

Played first matches after very very long time with my irl friends. First we tested it on public server, they said it was fun and so on. Then I took lowest 3on3 I could(had one new player) _he_ got badly raped 1/31 or something and then his reaction was something like "fuck, this is so shit game back to black ops or something." I guess this is the biggest problem when getting players to ET. I actually have like 5 friends wanting to play, but they get so badly raped that they quit after first match. I tried to explain the basics, but they already lost their interest.

Fuck this shit, enjoyed playing ET first time in months/years.

Yup, ET too hard for most gamers. I think its better to tell them play pub alot first to learn the basics, and play some wars with them after.

But it also has to do with the gamer himself, when I played my first games I got raped badly aswell, but I enjoyed the game so much that I didnt care. I still get raped badly in most games tho :p

I get raped too, but I am used to it :D I got raped very bad in my first games too, for some reason I kept playing and playing to get on to my shit lvl, was mostly because of my good m8s in ET who kinda teached me to play :p

Well, I used to be decent when I played with good and active players. That way I played vs players who were better than me, so I got used to a higher level. But ET is really really hard to learn if you're used to relatively easy games like CoD.

I tried telling them ET is hard game, and our enemy wasnt that bad. They'll keep playing I guess, atleast one or two of them :p I just have to force them to play public 24/7

you need to make them play 1vs1 first, to atleast get some ideas how to play and aim. Or 2v2/3v3 in multi_ctf is really good also, thats how we learned back in the days. ET is not that hard game to play if you can get the basics. hell, I even got my younger brother to top frag publics with +45 accuracy (hirntot,bio) in a week and he hadnt played the game since he was 9 yrs old.

the only "new" players etpro will ever see in the future , will be those little few players that will go from jaymod to etpro with some of their friends., But since the jaymod/nq/etpub community is also dieing, please be realistic and expect 0 new players to etpro. <thats a fact.

Taking a new guy into ET Pro ,asking him to play a war , even on a very low level , when he doesn t have a clue about how this game works, is like asking your 109 year old granny to drive a porche. There is a reason why the majority of the nerds here came from jaymod.

lol tbh when i started to play ET 8 years ago I also got raped on some publics and i started playing wars like 3-4 moths after my first pub game ;P training is the key, too bad there arent many publics left (and definately they're not ultranoob skilled)
