rtcw grey screen problem

Hello CF users!
I wanted to play the coop and installed rtcw on computer. When I start it i got a grey screen; the error report says sometihng about a file: "1138 _appcompat.txt"
I reinstalled it, modified the resolution, turned off firewall and antivirus, nothing worked.
On the i-net, people talk about a problem with media player 9 and windows XP sp3 (what I'm using) but they don't give any great solution.
Please help !

option 1.- run as administrator
option 2.- rename your RTCW/WolfMP.exe to quake3.exe ;)
