Windows 8?

Hi!
So I believe Windows 8 is already here (so soon). Am currently using windows 7, and lately upgrading to Windows 8 crossed my mind. Any fella's here who are on W8 can give their opinions? Should I upgrade?

Well, i've tested it on a daily basis, and as expected, it sucks.

It is clearly build for tablet usage, not for a normal pc. The new aspect / theme is kinda bad. The lack of Start button sucks, although Start8 (by stardock) can do the job pretty well, apart from some minor bugs.

Other than that, it's fast booting / shutting down, but kinda slow on folder navigation. Sometimes explorer.exe crashs for no reason. Perhaps it's a driver fault since my laptop doesn't have w8 compatible drivers.

Anyway, waste of time. Re-installed Windows7. In case you are a programmer, don't even use Visual Studio 2012. The aspect is so different, extremely slow.. etc,.. only negative stuff.
tried beta version, bullshit
faster than windows 7, metro didn't effect my way of working with windows at all. Only tried dual screen setup though.
I tried it aswell on my brothers setup. 2x 19 Inch and one of them has touchcabalities. It was fun to play with for 5 min but I miss the start button and I use this to navigate through windows. Good points are the performance and task manger.

I thought the same after installing win8, but you really get used to it. You will find ways to replace the start button, but I agree that it might would have been a better choice to keep it. But in the end I think win8 isnt really that bad, if you give it a change to get used to it. Still not sure if I prefer win7 or win8, close call imo.

Got nothing to complain about Win8 other than the lack of start button.
Try it on VMware player (download the Windows 8 .iso file) and try it out for yourself.
You don't need the serial key and it's legit to run the OS without it.

I quite like the new layout and idea of the new OS. It is more simple and fast but probably most suited for touch-screen devices.

+ Simple and clean.
+ Fast.
+ New fun layout to play with and easy to get used to.
+ Works perfect for touch-screen devices.
+ Great compatibilities (external devices and software).
+ Can be switched to desktop mode to look just like Windows 7.

- Not worth upgrading your desktop computer/laptop which has already Windows 7.
- Hides some customizable options/icons that you need to manually bring forward.
Windows 8 gonna be more and more like a fucking apple product. just a blackbox in which you can not do anything. software will be allowed only to install via windows store. so theres a huge complaint for example from valve because games will be installabled just via store + UEFI and Secure Boot.....

so decide wise which OS you gonna use.....
It has been designed to work very good with touch screen products ,i heard it got some influences from Apple but i also heard good reviews about it on filelist.ro. Personally I will stick with 7 for now.
