Cooking with Thomm

And on todays menu we have a traditional Finland Finnish dish, macaroni casserole. Normally it is done with minced meat, but I decided to do a vegan-version so that the hippies can enjoy it too. And here we go!

500gr chicken 3€
140gr bacon 1€
400gr macaroni 0,3€
3 eggs 0,5€
Some cheese 0,5€
2-3dl milk 0,3€
1dl cream 0,3€
1 onion 0,2€
Jalopenoes & spices, add what you like 1€

Cost total ~7€
Time spend from start to omnom, 1,5h

Nothing special, just boil water, add macaroni, cook & stir sometimes till it is ready. Meat goes the normal way too, slice bacon, throw everything to the pan, stir every now and then, add spices (garlic, omnomnom). Do not overcook the chicken!

Chopeti chop chop. You can use pre-made cheese-thingie, I just happened to have extra cheese that I had to use.

No tricks there either, just put them all together (the ones you have prepared so far). Set your oven to 200C.

Pour them to the casserole, make it a tight pack.

Mix eggs, milk & cream, whip it little bit, make it foamy, you know.

Pour it evenly everywhere at the casserole.

Place the cheese on top, pattern doesn't really matter, I just have somewhat of an OCD

Put it to the oven, at the lower 3rd of it, around 35-45min at 200C. Take it off after, let it settle, enjoy! With ketchup!

Do the dishes, have a beer!

Will post results when getting it out of the oven & eating. Enjoy!

Looks good besides macaroni :(

Just cooked 600g chicken with pepper and herbs then served with mixed salad and baguette :)) Oh, and had some image: 7547_0 too.
Oh, nearly forgot to mention, something nice to watch while eating, Top Gear 50 Years of Bond Cars 720p HDTV x264-FoV [eztv]
Parent
Just started to watch. OFC it is good, no matter what. Bond & Top Gear & cars, what could go wrong?
Parent
hammonds films are by far worse than mays or clarksons...
but seeing how we will have to wait till feb for the new series (inclduing the "christmas special") i got quite excited myself.
Parent
Well, that depends. Clarkson has some useless shit every now and then. And May sometimes annoys me with his overly-nostalgic reminizing. I have quite liked Hammonds other documentaries, ie. Planet Earth or his engineering-thingies.
Parent
its oke, its only hammond, but its sort of documentary so its nice
Parent
gonna watch it tonight :P
Parent
Will check it out some time. Friends went to Top gear live the other day said it was good and showed me pics of some great cars on show minus the bugatti veyron x)
Parent
Looks really tasty man, enjoy it! :)
My personal favorite food. Though it needs like 2 spoons of chilipowder in it to make it perfection!
Well, I have jalopenoes there to give it some kick ;)
Parent
Just wondering, do you always cook for multiple days? Or do you live with someone?
Parent
I usually make enough for two days, depends how hungry I am. Can eat that for lunch too & some after work tomorrow too. Though I have friends eating here every now and then too.
Parent
looks great :O)

Parent
didnt know what i was eating was Finland
pretty tasty but ketchup killed it imo
do you also have home delivery ?
> take time to cook
> garnish with ketchup

10/10 best meal ever
That is the part that makes it Finland Finnish dish x)
Parent
why god WHY!!!!!
dat low prices
Not sure if joking or... :D
Parent
no,i was serious on that
Parent
I have been to Germany few times, thought that food is cheaper there. Notice that the prices are for that dish, not for whole cheese-package or eggs.
Parent
actually i compared the prices with those of canada, as im here atm
Parent
Oh, right.
