Ubuntu for sure 10.4 LTS ->

We use it and its very stable, no probs so far.

got question: how much does this cost you per month? And port 1GBPS and connection 100MBIT with possible extension right?
That's not a Dedicated, that's a VPS.
CentOS if you know what you're doing, Ubuntu/Debian are usually the easier options and come heavily preconfigured. Though I never really been a fan of Ubuntu in a server environment, it's made a lot of progress these past years, but it's just something I can't really get accustomed to. Debian or CentOS would be my picks depending on what you use the box for and what it'll be required to do.
im going to try to host a 14slot et server.
maybe a 10 slot ts3, but prolly not

why 'prolly not' ? if you have these resources avi a ts3 serv rly isn't a problem

anyway OS doesn't really matter for these services, debian or ubuntu is just fine.
Parent
ok, im just not used to linux or any linux builds, so that was my main reason for asking.
Parent
you are going to host 14 slot and 10 slot ts3 server and for that you need dedi?
I'm running around 15 servers, website atm and could more it takes about 1-2gb for all processes atm and line is stable.
Parent
well after a while, i will be transfering all my pc files to it for BackUps(like dropbox idea)
as well as hosting a few websites.

But im going going to pay for a game server... support is crap and some of the admins for game servers are ignorant...
Parent
Ubuntu is most user friendly and is good too
CentOS obviously lol.
debian or centos
