It has nothing to do with etlive. It is a new project in times where many projects start and end before it's finished.
afaik it didnt go live earlier because they didnt only want to show a project with only 1,2 screenshots. Instead, etizb's aproach is offering a working alpha test platform (web interface, launcher, game etc..) and svn access for everyone with skills and can contribute.

Do continue speculating ;)

We were quite suprised by this, but well... that's the result of our ETLive vs etizb Dev Meeting.
