So i've been using a Logitech G5 for like 7 years, had a G500 meanwhile but i didn't like it at all (heavy, unbalanced, too big for my hand..).
So yeah, bought a G400. Any tips?
- Are you using Logitech Gaming Software?
- Dpi's (for full hd)?
- MarkC_Windows7_MouseFix or something similar?
Somehow the cable seems cheap near G5/G500, there is no weight control or leds showing the dpi's, but then again it was really cheap (29.90€).
Cheers

dpi for full hd well just increase it :P
and yeah cable is cheap watch out that u dont rip it apart
Why 500 hz? Isn't it 1000hz default?
nor is 500 totally stable but its way better than 125hz :P
and u wont see the difference anyway its from 2ms(500hz) to 1ms(1000hz)
so i would advise not to use 1000hz on any mouse
maybe in the future but right now it sux D:
but 1000hz is way different check it out :)
u get numbers from 100 to 1000 :P
thats not acceptable well atleast i dont think so :/
-u dont need more
-over 250hz it starts to be cpu intensive, interfiring with the game itself
Not stable ?
You can calculate the needed minimum dpi for your specific resolution, fov etc with this little tool ((c) h8m3).
Other than that, I'd recommend using the Mousefix you posted. I have no idea about the Logitech software, if it comes with tons of useless mouse enhancing fixes, I personally wouldn't use it and rely on the default settings.
Thank you for the link. I have no clue how many cm's i need to do a 360, will test soon, but seems like 400 dpi or lower is enough for me :X

G400 and MX518 still share bad cord and it breaks pretty easily but if you just use it carefully I think you'll be fine.
nvm saw urtiers link xd
400 dpi
500hz
2.8 in game sens
windows default sens
pro
Why 500hz instead of default 1000hz?
Thanks for sharing!
- Windows 7 64-bit
- no logitech shit software!!! (it was shit back then and I am not gonna trust it now)
- default (in the middle) windows sens
- MarkC mousefix
- 400 DPI ingame (I seriously doubt you will need more than that in any normal circuumstances anyway)
- 1000Hz (this is default value for G400, I don't see why would anyone change that...)
- 2.65-3.8 ingame sens (ranging from ~25 to 15cm for 180 turn), depends on how my mousepad feels
- in QL I use 4.2-4.6
Cheers
YES, its totally different and better then the one from mx518.
- Dpi's (for full hd)?
I use 1000 dpi, 1600x900 reso and i like it.
- MarkC_Windows7_MouseFix or something similar?
I use windows default, makes me move better, but MarkC makes u track a little better.
-1000hz
-Pretty good mouse
-Cable is shit as the mx518's, which takes the risk to stop responding after few months
sup with your g500, how different is it really? I find my g400 a bit light&small :/
Also has anyone been using the roccat savu or lachesis?
And it's a laser mouse, so technically the G400 is better and less expensive.
But it had some good stuff comparing to G400. The scroll was better, you could control the weight / dpi (visual indication), and everything you do can be saved at mouse memory (i guess that's good for gamers / lan).
