Doom 3

I was 10 or 11, don t remember exactly when in one evening, my dad gave me a vhs tape with Aliens 2 movie. I don t know why he did that. A kid should never watch Aliens 2 alone, in the dark of his room. That s one of the reasons, why I only was able to watch Alien Ressurection more then 5 years after it appeared. It scared the shit out of me, Aliens 2. The darkness, those chasing in the dark coridors, where the aliens trapped and killed all the soldiers, the music, oh boy I remember that feeling: with my remote in the hand, wanted to turn off the vhs a thousand times, but I was to fuckin scared to do it. Never closed an eye entire night, watching the fuckin roof, waiting for something to crawl on it.

I was like 17-18 , when I first time played Doom 2 and it was a blast at that time. Unfortunattely for some reason, at least in my country the game was not so popular like fuckin CS. A year later, the madness with internet caffe started , the whole town got like 20 such places in less than half of year. The most played games: CS, Aliens vs Predator,Quake3 , NFS and Fifa. No RTCW, and of course no Doom 2 which was already old. However I can t explain how come no RTCW.

Yesterday, browsing my torrent website, I saw Doom 3. With the history of Id Software, I thaught this can t dissapoint, However I was surprised to see many comments like this: "Don t play this game in darkness and with full sound" . I thaught wtf, I don t remember Doom 2 to be scary at all. So I downloaded and installed the game and started to play. From the first mission-rescue the missing scientist, after the hell breakthrough and everybody starts transforming into zombies and other monsters I finnaly understood the warning. Sudenly I was no longer the 32 man, lifting 15 times 100 kg, to my chest, but I was back in 1990 , the 10 year old scared boy watching Aliens 2.

Doom 3 it s better than RTCW on single player a million times. Even few weeks ago, after finishing again the RTCW , I had absolutelly no emotions what so ever by playing it. But in Doom 3...? Oh well, let s just say, you are transported in a world of darkness and terror, The guy who designed the monsters...I don t want to be inside his mind. I had to let it go, I m still on mission 2 and I just can t handle the pressure anymore. I m a scared little bitch, that music, that atmosphere, that horror, that tension, yea...a game which does that to a man that fears nothing but God , is more than a game. Is a fuckin masterpiece, is a million times better than any fuckin game that I played, because you are there, you are in middle of terror, and you have to watch every step you make, and watch your back. You are alone. Now I fear something else, except God. I fear Doom 3. Doom 3 was made by the Devil. Finish Doom 3 at the hardcore level, alone in the dark, and you know you beat the Devil.
