Why is there different kind of WoWs?

So when I go to the blizzard websites, I'm kind of confused with the options for WoW? I see, Cataclysm, The Burning Crusade, WOTLK, etc? Can someone tell me the difference?

So when you buy TV, Internet, etc your not wasting money? You can live without those, but you get them so you can be entertained ;) Which again, comes back to my point!

in normal WoW you got 2 continents and u r able to reach 60 lvl(need over 1 month for it) than you should buy The Burning Crusade which allows you to reach 70 lvl and visit Outland. Next expansion is Wrath of the Lich King witch 80 lvl cap and new continent of Northrend. Cataclysm allows you to reach 85 lvl and visit new lands in Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms and Firelands(realm of Fire). Last expansion is Mists of Pandaria which adds continent of Pandaria and 90 lvl cap.

Every expansion bring also a lot of other content like new intems, battlegrounds, dungeons and raids, mounts, pet and much more :P. Each land and expansion got its own lore...
But I can't say how much time you will need to reach 90 lvl because after Cataclysm whole game was redesigned :P
And I'm not sure but since MoP you r able to play any race w/o buying expansion even if some races was added in expansion :P

ofc yes :P you need to reach 60,70,80,85 lvl before you will be able to get MoP quests...

you buy expansion + game time. Once you buy an expansion you can enjoy its the content as long as u want to. But you need a game time to play ;).
So if you want to have 90 lvl character u need to buy battle chest + cataclysm + MoP for 31 euro and game time for ~2 months. You can also lvl up your character to 20 lvl in free trial...

expansions.. adding new content to the game, expanding from the previous expansion (or vanilla game if its the first expansion)
