Hello Crossfire!
This is a post which will hopefully reach out to those of you here who can contribute to a project myself and Artstar intend to work on in the near future. What we need is simple, some resources in which to host our project spread over multiple servers.
The project is quite simple, we intend to create a very large database of as many ET (and RtCW) fragmovies as possible. We know that has been done before, however we intend to create a project that is kept upto date, and is fully redundant, we want this to last longer than we do!
To achieve this, we need server space! Lots and lots of space. What we're after is quite simple, we are just asking for a user on a server you may have, which we can upload movies to with our system, and distribute them. You don't need to have vast amounts of space, because the project will be split up over as many servers as possible, and made redundant on as many servers as possible. We will take the steps to ensure the movie files are distributed well and multiple copies exist all the time.
So that's it! All we need from you, is a user on your server which is accessible via SSH and HTTP (only VPS/dedis), and we'll do the rest. We hope to build a strong community ran archive, and we of course need your help doing that.
If you have some resources we can use for this project, please PM me with the following info : Network speed, amount of HDD we can use, server location.
