connection two pcs via internet for lan games

Looking for someone to help me do this, so far i have failed every attempt.

Trying to play settlers 3.

We installed it, but we can never connect our pc's to each other.

You have to create a network first and have the other guy join it. Do you even Google?

We made a network and were both in it, but we were unable to find each thru the game.

When you're hosting a game he has to connect to your Hamachi IP and vice versa. Just force it manually.

We played the same game over at his house thru LAN, so yes.

All the modems/routers have VPN pass-through enabled?

I've looked thru my routers interface, but i can't find any menu to enable VPN pass-through.

Isn't the problem that you both have windows 7 and you need IPX support on the NIC for it to work? The game is oold.

I have no idea what you mean with IPX support, but all i can say is that we were able to play the game when I was at his home on his network.
