anti virus programs?

Hey guys,

as my McAfee subscription ends today I am in need of a new anti virus program. Either freeware or purchasable.
Any tips? Don't want to spend too much money on an anti virus program though

Kaspersky

Kaspersky is really effective, if there is a virus on a site or file and you try to open, kasperskpy wont let you open it so the file (program whatever) wont work. The anti virus is detecting almost everything in my opinion and is so easy to fix things with it. You don't have to do shit with this anti virus, does almost everything himself.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 for me ,using it since 1 year+this year now

never had any problems ,blocks possible dangerous sites,updates,has a nice panel etc etc

Common sense is always the best anti-virus, but if you're dealing with a lot of dodgy sites/files then why not buy one. Personally I managed to grab a real cheap Norton license a few years back, it ran out now though so been using Kaspersky and really liking it so far. Shopping around for a license now, cheapest seems to be ~15 euro for Kaspersky Internet Security 3 PC, or Pure 3.0 3 PC for around 22 euro. Let me know if you/anyone finds a cheaper one [x

If you're looking for a free alternative you should check out BitDefender, they just released a free version of their antivirus that should be enough for any average user.
