don't know shit about football but i'm aware of the fact that known players like them are kind of protected by the referees. Indeed, if the defence happen to touch even a sock, it gets a card and has to deal with a penalty.

Messi was protected but ~2 years ago everything changed. Refrees stopped to use whistle after obvious fauls and he was never kind of player like Sanchez who falls down after a weak touch.
