Rent houses around Europe

Hello guys i'm making a kind of research to understand whaz the first ways to advise and find houses around Europe...like uni's public walls or forums and staff could u pls advise and give ur opinion in which is the best way to find houses for students especially in ur country ? There're some forums that are based for students moving across Europe and searching for a place to stay, normally u would share it with someone else who's already living there, so it would be a bit cheaper, other than that, there re websites with rentable places that u can get for a specific time that u want, tho they will cost more if u wont have anyone to live together.
