laptop gfx and hz probs

hi maybe computer geeks could answer me few questions.

first one: is it possible to make nvidia gfx as my main one? cuz now as main is intel hd graphics

second one: is it possible to lock 125 hz on laptop screen on et? i set it on my cfg, on r_mode -1, on 1600x900 resolution, but after i load cfg console says that i'm still using 60 hz

thx in regards

If you have a laptop that supports 120hz you can. But that has to be a alienware laptop or something highly priced.
As for your gfx card i don´t think you cant do shit about it
as much as i understand, when i set hz on my cfg and load it on et there should be black screen if my screen doesn't support it. there is two gfx on my pc integrated intel and gforce gt540m. gforce starts up only then when i start a game or smth else.

Where is your laptop from?(brand or such)

If you enter displayresfresh 125 it doesnt meanyou also have 125 hz on your screen. ET allows you to set that command to match your screen hz. If your screen only does 60hz your ET wont go higher than that so you can enter 125 all you want but it wont do it.

About the GFX thing, only way to do that is by disabling the Intel HD card, though on a laptop I highly recommend that you don;t because the batterylife of your laptop will go downhill crazy(the nvidia gfx only runs when you play games and you thus safe alot of battery when you dont and run the smaller Intel chip)

i doubt with such a gfx card your monitor is able to handle 120hz.

60hz is a common in laptop, there are only verry few exeption (3d laptop branded)

Not really so highly priced. I shipped from India toshiba satellite a665-3dv12x for my fiance, overall 1300$.
Price in Poland is actually 2200$, so thats not so cheap.

didnt know adzz has a girlfriend, hello
Your laptop has 120Hz display, not 125Hz. It probably resets to 60Hz because you are trying to apply higher Hz than your laptop display supports.

r_displayrefresh 120 and gg.

And yes, afaik it's possible to disable Nvidia Optimus technology in Nvidia Control Panel. If you can't find it, just google "how to disable nvidia optimus"
Keep the Intel hd always. Jus make sure your dedicated gpu is running et, you can configure that at driver control panel.
