AOL to Close Winamp on December 20

There was a time when Winamp was widely--or at least in college dorm rooms--considered the best media player on the internet. After all, what other service allowed us to listen to MP3s while hearing a slogan about beating llamas in the spirit of Wesley Willis? After a decade and a half, Winamp will cease operations next month.
As reported by Ars Technica, Winamp posted a brief message on its site this afternoon announcing the company's closure after more than 15 years. All Winamp services will go dark on December 20, and no further support will be offered for Winamp media players.
Back in 1999, AOL purchased Winamp for more than $80 million dollars. And according to its staff, the AOL acquisition began the long, arduous decline of the Winamp brand. "There's no reason that Winamp couldn’t be in the position that iTunes is in today if not for a few layers of mismanagement by AOL that started immediately upon acquisition," said Winamp's Rob Lord, during a 2012 interview.

EH always used winamp for any kind of music format... But well will use it anyway since music formats for me are mp3 or aac :)

Always loved how amarok was, pulling the lyrics up for the songs and overall nice and clean look, good for organising the music too

I always used winamp since I started shoutcasting in 1999. I still use it today. I'll keep using it.
